Exit
2016, Riverway Arts Centre, Townsville
Exit is a collaborative project choreographed and performed by Shaughn Pegoraro and Tegan Ollett. Through this work, the artists explore ‘the end’ as a concept; examining the pathways, accidents, coincidences, and surprises that occur throughout our lived experience. The artists considered a number of perspectives on the topic of finality and morbidity during the development of this work, to produce a vocabulary that captures this concept. Exit attempts to question what we would do if we could pre-empt the end, what choices or pathways would we take. This work traveled to Aberdeen, Scotland for the International Youth Festival in 2016.
This project was supported by the Townsville City Council and the Queensland Government through the Regional Arts Development Fund, and Jane Pirani and Andre Reynaud through the Ann Roberts School of Dance for their contributions to the development, production, and presentation of this work.
The Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF) is a partnership between the Queensland Government and the Townsville City Council to support local arts and culture in regional Queensland.
